Everyone loves to go on vacation, right? Well, maybe not everyone but most of us like to take a trip away from home now and then. I’m no exception. I really do love to travel. But over the years I’ve discovered that there are actually a lot of things that I hate about vacations.

Some of the things that I really don’t like about vacations include:

• Trying to book a vacation hotel. I never know where I want to stay. The places that I really like are always too expensive. And in the end I stress out about it way more than I should.
• The conundrum of whether to drive or fly to locations within the region. Long-distance driving is no fun and gas is high but I don’t really like going through the hassle of flying if I don’t have to.
• The weeks leading up to the vacation. The kind of work I do requires that it be done whether I’m on vacation or not so the weeks leading up to a trip mean that I’m working double-time to get ahead.
• Coming back home! That’s not true, I guess. I like being back at home but it’s always sad on that day when it’s time to return.

I admit it; I love vacations but there are things that I absolutely hate about them!
