Romance is what will keep a relationship alive through all the ups and downs that make up a long life together. Sometimes creating that romance can feel like a chore but it is always worth the effort that you put in. Since you’re making that effort anyway, you should try to turn it up a notch and really go all out to keep that feeling alive.

Let’s say that you had it in mind that you were going to have a candlelit dinner ready for your spouse after a long day of work. Instead of just buying tapered candles and throwing them on the table, why not get scented candles that would create a better mood for the dinner? Better yet, why not line the bathroom with scented jar candles and enjoy the romance of those aromatherapy candles in a shared bath before dinner even begins?

These are the kinds of things that most couples do only when they first get together and are still in the throes of falling in love. They may try to do these things now and then as part of an anniversary celebration. But if you can manage to think with this level of romance several times throughout the year then you will find that your relationship is more satisfying and that it also has a better chance of standing the test of time.
