God as Body Art
By Bookmark in Society | 0 comments
I’ve always felt that God is with me at all times. I can feel him around me, affecting me, guiding my path.
So when I started getting into tattoos, I decided it was time to put him and his word more visibly into my life. I added a cross on the back of my neck at first, but after a while I decided that cross tattoos weren’t good enough. I needed something with more power – something that will make an impression on all those that look at it.
I decided to break the tattoo into two parts – the first part was on my back. I had the articles create a giant Jesus on the cross, hands outstretched, with tears falling from his eyes.
I continued that art by having the rain drops puddle in the bottom of my back, with various signs of the magic of creation and heaven. This puddle carries over around my waist, with as many signs of the power of God I could add.
I recognize that to some it may seem a little gaudy to have such large religious tattoos all around my back and waist, but unlike many other designs, I didn’t do it to look good – I did it to show my love for God. I think I was successful.
