News from the Internet
By AZ in Internet | 0 comments
The newspaper industry is struggling these days. The reason for this is that most people get their news from the Internet these days. Online news sources have grown over the years and now include a vast array of different types of news sites. Newspaper sales are down and so most are now involved in spreading their online readership.
The added problem for them is that many sites syndicate the news from different news sites using various technologies including RSS. Also bloggers are involved in taking the news and adding their own viewpoint to it. Thus news can get so diluted that the source is so far removed from the site that the news originally appeared on. Given the growth of online news many newspapers and writers are not getting acknowledged for their work.
The news industry has changed so much over the past few years with the growth of Internet news. Newspapers and the news industry will really have to move quickly to adapt to the changes so that they continue to survive. New models for monetization will have to be worked out.
