I think probably one of the most overdone Halloween costume themes for women is the sexy costume.  One of my best friends in college used to dress up every year as a punk schoolgirl — short skirt, cleavage, pigtails, etc.

Not that sexy Halloween costumes aren’t cool and fun — they’re great, when it’s not the same costume every other girl at the party is wearing.  Just like regular adult costumes, sexy costumes should be unique and interesting in order to be done right.

For example, here is an exampe of a sexy costume fallen flat: a Final Fantasy costume photographed at Comic-Con (whatever that is).  At least, I’m assuming it was supposed to be a sexy costume, since the young… er, lady… is wearing next to nothing.  But it’s hard to be sexy when you’ve got toilet paper wrapped around your arms, no matter how little clothing you are wearing.

The other key is knowing which sexy costumes are for parties and which are just for the two of you.  Whatever you do, don’t wear a costume that is better off left for the bedroom!  Have your own party later on for that one, just the two of you.  That’s not the kind of tricks — or treats — you want to be sharing with everyone else, anyway!
