What You’ll Be When You Grow Up

When my sister was a kid, she loved to design stuff. Whether it was a dress for one of her dolls that she made from extra scraps of fabric lying around, a wild outfit for herself, or a book or poster, her creations always looked great. She obviously had quite a flare for design.
In fact, we were pretty sure for a long time that she would go into some sort of design-related career. She loved to decorate her room (and still does!), so we thought maybe she’d get into an interior design program, such as the one offered by Harrington College of Design.
She also went through a period where she loved to draw. She made books, posters, and all kinds of things. For a while we thought she’d look into art or graphic design programs.
But as it turned out, my sister was headed in a very different direction than we all thought. She works at a bank now, and when she discovered that they’d pay for continuing education, she looked into business administration programs. She is now an analyst and is in the process of completing her MBA.
I guess it just goes to show that you can never really tell what a kid will actually be when he or she grows up!
