What Creates Loyalty to a Brand?

As someone who owns a business, you need to brand yourself. Once you’ve branded yourself, you need to make sure that your customers feel a sense of loyalty to your brand.

Here are some of the things that create loyalty for a brand:

  • The history of a family business. Many people buy dishes from Bernardaud or jewelry from Gianmaria Buccellati specifically because the business has been around for awhile and it’s been passed down through a family. You can’t count on this if you’re a new business but it’s something to think about for your business if you have kids.
  • Many high-quality things to offer. A business that does more than one thing well can establish brand loyalty. A modern example is Juliska which started out as a handblown glass company but now also makes ceramic dishes and even linens.
  • Lack of a good alternative. If you create a unique product that no one else is making then you’ll have immediate loyalty to your brand.
  • Great word-of-mouth. People want the things that other people have. If you can get a few strong supporters for your brand (even if you have to hire them) then you can spread the word and create brand loyalty among other customers.

Learning to establish brand loyalty will be an important asset for your business.
