Last Day of the Trade Show

It may seem weird to have a trade show so close to Christmas, but it is a common sight here around the holidays. Retailers from all over our state come to the arena here in this small town to set up trade show displays and sell their wares to the town residents.
It is a huge hit, and since it is a farming community, we get people from miles away who drive in to do their Christmas shopping. At the sale you will find everything from children’s toys, to farm equipment, and even during the last few years people have sold livestock here.
It is one of the highlights of the year for the town, and yet it is one of the most tiring times of the year for me. This is our fifth year having a trade show exhibit here, and though profitable, it is getting harder to run as I get older.
We sell a lot of metal puzzles that we have created at our shop in the big city, and it just amazes me how many we sell each year. In fact, the sales that we make at this event are almost similar to the sales we make during the entire year back at our shop (which has low foot traffic since it is in an industrial area).
Needless to say, I will be happy in eight hours once the tradeshow is done for the year. It will be nice to sit down during the Christmas break – these old feet are tired.
